Established in 1750 by artist Andrew Planche and with collaboration from his friend William Duesbury, also an artist whos art aligned perfectly with Planche's. Both men discovered the craft of decorating exquisite fine bone china, which is how the Royal Crown Derby brand came to be. This led to their first factory establishment based in Nottingham. Royal Crown Derby has had a longstanding relationship with The Royal Family since 1761, when they created their commemorative piece for King George III coronation.
